First and second grade is so exciting!
I love coming to school every day. I get to not only help my students learn but also get to talk to them about our loving God and Savior. Each student is so unique and such a blessing to have in the classroom. We strive for a Christ-centered classroom that allows all students to learn.
 ABOUT HELEN MATEO: I am so proud to tell you that I come from a Seventh-Day Adventist school (Portland, CT. SDA School)! I attended from first grade to the eighth grade. I loved it there and knew that when I got my teaching degree I wanted to teach at an SDA school! God granted my wish and here I am at TAA! This school has been a blessing for not only myself but for my son, and next year it will be a blessing for my daughter. I love to teach my students Spanish and watch their faces light up as they start understanding what I am saying to them.
We start our day with Worship, where we sing, talk, pray, and learn about Jesus and each other. The rest of the day is taken up with Bible class, Reading, Math, Foundations, Writing, Social Studies, and Science. We also have PE, Library time, Art and Spanish.
